One of the most important objectives is to help students become successful vocationally and prepare them for the realities and responsibilities of contributing to society through work.

To this end, vocational education and training are integrated into the treatment plans and educational curricula.  Full-time vocational coordinators impart fundamental work ethics such as timeliness and attention to detail.  They also teach independent living skills, résumé preparation and interview skills, and supervise job placement in the community.

The Chef’s Art Program is an example
of Family Life Center’s integrated approach to vocational training.

Students apprentice with our culinary trained chefs, learning all aspects of meal planning, purchasing and preparation, while experiencing diverse and nutritionally balanced meals.
